Spirt Airlines fined $375,000

Spirit Airlines is fined $375,000 for violating a raft of consumer protection regulations. The United States Department of Transportation announced the civil penalty for the violation. Last year Spirit Airlines had a $40,000 fine in 2008 for its failure of certain fees in advertisements on its web site. The Spirit Airlines failed to comply with the rules with the governing and denied boarding compensation, fare advertising, baggage liability, airfare ads, improperly providing disability information and other consumer protection requirements. The United States Department of Transportation had numerous consumer complaints filed on Spirit Airlines. Spirit Airlines bumped passengers from overbooked flights and didn't provide a notice.
