My Airport - Davenport Municipal Airport gets new Terminal Building
Demolition of the old terminal building at the Davenport Municipal Airport in Davenport, Iowa has begun underway on Monday, March 29, 2010. Carver Aero is putting up a new terminal and new hangars. The 7,000 square foot terminal and 20,000 square foot hangar will be built. The new terminal building will be much more newer and much more better. Th new terminal will have a pilots lounge, meeting rooms, storage room for private planes and office space. The project should be done by October. The Davenport city is seeking $14.2 million in federal grant money to expand the 5,501 foot long runway to 7,000 feet. The airport expanding the runway will be used by all corporate jets and big jets in the near future. The shorter runway is used by all general aviation aircraft and corporate jets.
