Commemorative Air Force Establishes Hall of Fame
The Commemorative Air Force (CAF) has established a member hall of fame. “We want to recognize those individuals responsible for setting the course that the Commemorative Air Force has taken,” said CAF President Stephan Brown. “The CAF has grown over the years from a small band of pilots to a group of over 8,500 members from all walks of life. While we still have a great number of pilots in our ranks, the CAF now encompasses people of all different passions and interests.” The CAF will be honoring the members each year at its annual Wing Staff conference. They'll recognize two members. The members continue to support the organization.

2009 Florida Aviation Hall of Fame Inductees
2009 Florida Aviation Hall of Fame induction ceremony will be Friday, December 11, 2009.
Amelia Earnhart (b.July 24, 1897-January 5, 1939)
She was an American aviation pioneer who inspired billions of female pilots to learn to fly.
David McCampbell (January 16, 1910-June 30, 1996, Aged 86).
David McCampbell was an American naval aviator who became the US Navy's all-time leading ace with 34 aerial victories during World War II. He had won awards in Medal of Honor, Navy Cross, Silver Star, Legion of Merit, Distinguished Flying Cross and an Air Medal.
LeRoy Browm was a Florida resident, 29 years of National Airline pilot with over 35,000 flight hours.

Bobby Younkin, Tom Poberezny & Charlie Kulp are inducted into Air Show Hall of Fame
The International Council of Air Shows Foundation (ICASF) will induct Bobby Younkin, Charlie Kulp and Tom Poberezny into the 2009 Air Show Hall of Fame. The hall of fame ceremony will be hold on December 6-9 at the Paris Hotel in Las Vegas.
Bobby Younkin (October 30, 1955-Sunday, July 10, 2005 AGE 49)
Bobby Younkin learned to fly at age 16. He was performing air shows since he was age 18. He flew various aerobatic planes Decathlon, stock Stearman, AT-6, Learjet and his famous Twin Beech. He is the only performer to add smoke to a Learjet. He was a member of the Masters of Disasters airshow team that uses a shockwave jet truck and pyrotechnics. He is famous for being an airshow legend. Bobby Younkin has a son-in-law named Matt Younkin who is an aerobatic pilot and a daughter named Amanda Franklin-Younkin who is a wingwalker for Kyle Franklin. Amanda Franklin-Younkin is married to an aerobatic pilot named Kyle Franklin. Bobby Younkin died when his aircraft collided with Jimmy Franklin on Sunday, July 10, 2005. He joins fellow performer Jimmy Franklin, who passed away in the same accident , in the hall of fame.
Tom Poberezny (b. October 3, 1946)
Tom Poberezny is the current president and chairman of the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) and former aerobatic pilot. His father Paul Poberezny, founder of EAA. Tom Poberezny has been the chairman for EAA since 1977. This annual event takes place in Oshkosh, Wisconsin and attracts over 750,000 visitors with 10,000 aircraft from 68 countries. Tom Poberezny, Charlie Hillard and Gene Soucy formed The Christian Eagles aerobatic team that flew a Pitts S-1/S. The Christian Eagles aerobatic team ceased in 1995 at the Daytona Skyfest. You can see Tom Poberezny, Charlie Hillard and Gene Soucy's Pitts S-1/S at the EAA AirVenture Museum in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.

Charlie Kulp is the founder and member of the famous Flying Circus Airshows in Bealton, Virginia. He became famous two years later when he did his aerobatic routine called the "Silas Hicks, the Flying Farmer" routine until he ceased it in 2007 at the age of 82.

2009 EAA Hall of Fame Inductees
EAA will welcome and honor six new members to its 2009 Hall of Fame. EAA recognizes these people in their contribution on sport aviation.
Bob Hoover was born on January 24, 1992 in Nashville, Tennessee. His current age is 87 years old. At age 15 Bob began taking flying lessons. When he got his pilots license he quickly began flying aerobatic maneuvers. Then Bob joined the Tennessee Air National Guard in 1940 when he was 18 years old and participated in World War II. But during World War II Bob Hoover was shot down by a German when he was flying a Spitfire. Bob was also a former aerobatic pilot and a test pilot.
George H. Baker- Warbirds of America Inductee
George H. Baker was born in Hawthorne, New Jersey in 1930. He is currently 79 years old. He first soloed during his Junior year in High School. He has flown over 100 types of aircrafts. In 1977 and ever since he has been operating a warbird facility in Florida. He is a former aerobatic pilot and air racer. George Barker is the current chief pilot for NASCAR at the Dayton International Speedway.
Lance A. Neibauer- EAA Homebuilders Inductee
Lance Neibauer is the founder of the award winning Lancair International Inc. and the designer of its line of aircraft. Neibauer's first aircraft is Lancair 200, which was test flown on June 26, 1984 in Ohio.
Roy Pinner- EAA Ultralight Inductee
Roy Pinner liked aviation since age 8. He worked his way up working with model airplanes, radio-controlled airplanes, and finally building his own kit-plane. In 1979 he purchased a Hummer ultralight kit and took it to an EAA Fly-in and won Reserve Grand Champion. He then designed an ultralight called a Drifter and put it as a kit-plane. You can still purchase that plane.
Paul Sanderson- National Association of Flight Instructors Inductees
Paul Sanderson was a flight instructor in World War II. Then after that he started his own school offering pilot rating classes. He eventually sold his company. Sanderson has been recognized by the National Aeronautical Association as an Elder Statesman of Aviation for his contributions to the aviation community.
Stephen Pitcairn- Vintage Aircraft Association Inductee
Stephen Pitcairn born on 1924 and died on Saturday, March 29, 2008 at the age 83. Stephen Pitcairn is the founder of Pitcairn Aircraft. Three aircrafts were built during the company a Pitcairn PCA-2 autogiro (seen in picture on the left), PA-7S Sport Mailwing and PA-39 autogiro. He was an active contributor to the aviation community.
