EAA AirVenture 09: Harrison Ford receives Freedom of Flight Award

At EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2009 Harrison Ford receives Freedom of Flight Award at Theater in the Woods.
"The Freedom of Flight Award is the most significant annual EAA award given to individuals who truly make a difference in aviation and EAA," Tom Poberezny said.
Harrison Ford promotes general aviation and he is also the current Young Eagles chairman. He has since participated in the program in 2001, gave 300 Young Eagle children airplane rides in his own aircraft. Harrison Ford has a pilots certificate which he earned in 1996.
"This is a surprise," Ford said. "I'm very grateful for the recognition."
